Dear All

you must be encountering various generics of paracetamol iv that are cheap as compare to patented one perfalgan.

There is lot of difference in the brand leader and the generics in terms of efficacy.... i got all clinical papers to share with you. so that you will not use inferior products in your patient group. For more info contact me at- gaurav10510@yahoo.com

summary of paracetamol use iv for analgesia

As per recent trials paracetamol comes as 1 gram in 100 ml bottle... its infusion is given intravenously over 15 to 20 min . it is advised to give infusion just 20 min before surgery as therapeutic levels are attained within 20 min... the peak level is attained in blood within 60 minutes... the dose can be repeated within 4 to 6 hr in normal healthy adults . while in patients with hapatc an renal dysfunction it can be repeated after 6 hr minimum....

further evaluation is required about its safety an effectiveness in diffrent type of surgeries an in diffrent clinical situations..

the dosage in a normal adult of 60 kg weight is around 1 to 4 gm..
